Klaipeda (10 km)
The cycling begins in Klaipeda – Lithuania's third biggest city, a historic seaport and resort. Meet the leading guide, jump on your bicycle and shortly explore the Old town of Klaipeda with the Theatre square and the statue of a girl Ann from Tharau, numerous old streets and buildings, Linden street with the old post-office. Stay for overnight in Klaipeda.
Klaipeda-Smiltyne-Juodkrante (25 km)
Morning cycle to the ferry terminal, cross the Curonian Lagoon by ferry and arrive in Smiltyne – the beginning of the Curonian Spit. Ride by bicycle paths, specially designed for panoramic tour, to Juodkrante city. Juodkrante – the second biggest settlement of Neringa located on the coast of the Curonian Lagoon between high parabolic dunes. When navigating in the Lagoon, this location looks quite dark; therefore, it is considered that the name of Juodkrante originated from two words: „black coast“. Here visit the colony of grey herons and cormorants, the Hill of Witches, where you can see a unique exposition in the open air , where sculptures of witches, demons, and the characters of Lithuanian fairy tails and Neringa legends are located, cool off in the Baltic Sea and take the sun on golden sand beaches. Finally take a rest at hotel in Juodkrante.
Juodkrante-Pervalka-Preila-Nida (30 km)
Cycle on an asphalt bike path of the Seaside Cycle Route which takes you along the Curonian Spit to Nida. The route leads to the second and the smallest settlement of Neringa, PERVALKA, visit there the Skirpstas Hill‘s dune of 53 m height in the southern part of Pervalka, later cycle to the third biggest settlement of Neringa – PREILA, about 1.5 km north of it visit Karvaiciai Dune, under the sand of which the whole settlement of Karvaiciai is buried. And finally arrive to Nida, the biggest settlement and an administrative centre of Neringa. Nida – a small old fishermen village famous for its majestic seashore sand dunes, Thomas Mann's summerhouse, neo-gothic church and old ethnographic cemetery. Take a rest at hotel in Nida.
Nida (20 km)
Jump on your bicycle and enjoy a full day of exploring Nida – the Great Dune of Parnidis, Evangelican Lutheran Church sanctified in 1888, the Amber Gallery of Mizgiris, Thomas Mann memorial museum, the ancient Curonian cemetery, cozy coffees and of course very beautiful sand beach will be waiting you. Palanga – Sventoji – Palanga(40 km)
Cycle along the coast through a beautiful dwarf pine seaside forest. Arrive in Sventoji –former fishermen village now turned into a tourist town, situated on the river of Sventoji. It is the perfect place to have a great rest in beautiful natural surroundings and quietness. Visit a cable bridge over the Sventoji River , go for a walk at the seaside, between the seaside dunes you will see wooden ritual poles – these are Žemaičių Alka, a pagan Lithuanian temple and pale astronomic observatory, also do not miss the symbol of the city – impressive (about 4 meters tall) sculpture “The Fisherman’s Daughters”, which is situated in the dunes, near the gates of Sventoji port. Cycle back to Palanga for overnight.
