Five km from the Village of Marcinkonys, on the border, is an educational path in the marsh and area surrounding the marshland. On this path, visitors see the Čepkeliai Marsh, pine-covered dunes and get acquainted with marshes and forest flora. Here is an opportunity to glance, albeit briefly, at one of our most valuable, natural objects-the Čepkeliai Marsh. From the viewing tower, the landscape of large forest covered islands, scattered plots of marshland shrouded in smoke and a wooden path (catered for the disabled), leads to a scenic viewing area. The goal of Reserves is to guarantee the least amount of disturbance to the normal processes of Nature, and that is why the amount of visitors in the area is restricted. We need to respect this policy.
In the Reserve, one can explore the area using a special sightseeing path. From April 1st until July 1st, in order for visitors to use the educational path, they need to be taken by an authorized employee, or a licensed nature guide. During this time of year, there can be no more than two excursions per day, and with groups that are no larger than 20 people.
