Last weekend of May 14, The Park of Vingis was the rugby match against thevisitors from the Netherlands, “Tilburg” team against “Gelezinis Vilkas” team.

Tilburg Rugby Club hosts the third season are playing in the southwestern Dutchclass rugby. Both matches were very tense because both clubs played more orless similar forces. Neither team wanted to give each other and fought with theintransigence of the great victory. Guests from the Netherlands snatched the victory from our veterans, but the defeat was not painful for “Gelezinis Vilkas” team at all because Tilburg club have won only one point advantage in their favor. So the match was really friendly.

After two matches of the game players of both teams have a good time spent enjoying lithuaniain barbecue (saslykas) and of course lithuanian beer.

Last weekend on the 7-8th of May, in Stadium of Vingis Park there was friendly rugby game between Lithuania (”Gelezinis Vilkas”) and England (”Lichfield Old Boys”).

The first day guest from England won two rounds against Lithuania’s team (33:32). The second day for “Lichfield Old Boys” was worst than the first day because they defeated our veterans team “Gelezinis Vilkas”, the result of that day was “Gelezinis Vilkas” vs ”Lichfield Old Boys” (38:17). But they didn’t disappoint by them selves because the they won the game day before.

On the second day after they played two matches, on the third round both teams has celebrated with barbecue (saslykas) and lithuanian beer.

Travel agency “Visit Lithuania” which organized this rugby games, took photo of the funniest moments of the players, took care that they wont be missing anything and that they spend fun their time.

OLD ALBANIANS RFC TOUR

On the 2nd of October, 2009 at Vingis Park - Rugby Square there competed Vilnius rugby team “Gelezinis Vilkas” against the “Bury St. Edmunds” RUFC team from England.

Mr. John Kulakovskis was the judge of this match.

“Bury St. Edmunds” team does not play in the elite England Guinness league - but it’s progress is astonishing. First, during the last three years the team climbed up and now is playing in the 6th division in accordance with the strength. At this season they have achieved three victories and one defeat and are proud of the second place in the tournament table. From this year the team is led by new coach Mr. Dwain Brown from South Africa, who highlights young coaches education and children’s attraction to rugby.However, despite the fact, that this England team is really great, “Bury St. Edmunds” suffered defeat in the competition against the Lithuanian team!

This time Lithuanian team “Gelezinis Vilkas” was really powerful and impregnable!

It is great that men from England did not plunge in the sadness after the game and enjoyed the night life of Vilnius! Travel agency “Visit Lithuania” - which organized all this rugby tour - borrowed a guitar to “Bury St. Edmunds” RUFC team to create the real party atmosphere!

On saturday have been well-turned friendly rugby match in Kaunas.

Where is the local team defeated win. Kaunas’Azuolas’ team VS Hadleigh RUFC (England) 70:5 (35:0).

Match were friendly, so the winners were all the participants. After the victory celebration been moved to „America sauna”club. Although the match was ended at 5 pm, the „third“ half lasted till late evening.The English players have been happy had the opportunity to meet with Lithuania team.„Kauno Dienos“ (Kaunas Days) Festival allowed guys from England day before the game and the day after the match spend pithy time in Kaunas.
